Looking for a 2009 Passat CC it shows. Airbag unit for sport steering wheel - 3C8 880 201 N 81U was dropped on 01/07/11 for - 3C8 880 201 S 81U - £655

Or airbag unit for sport steering wheel for vehicles with remote control radio and telephone - 5K0 880 201 L 81U was dropped on 01/07/11 for - 5K0 880 201 N 81U - no price shown.

There are a few airbag wiring harness - 3C8 971 584 E - £28.

Wiring set for air bag steering wheel with multi function buttons D.21/03/11> - 5K0 971 584 C - £44.50.

On the Golf there are loads of airbag unit for sport steering wheel for vehicles with remote control radio and telephone. Finding correct part numbers is a mine field.

 

so if its a golf sport wheel with remote for the radio & telephone will i need to find what year the car was that the wheel was removed from or will either the two numers 1KM880201 A 8IU -1KM880201 E 8IU be suitable..your reply was spot on

 

There is Steering wheel swap and paddle shifter swap FAQ (for multifunction steering wheel MFSW on mk5 and mk6 Jetta Golf TDI) in FAQ if you want to do a search.

Its a pity the steering wheel you bought didn't have the air bag unit as that would have had the part number on it.

Really I don't like the flat bottom steering wheel on my GTD its as though VW couldn't design the steering column right so they had to put a flat bottom on it so it wouldn't catch your legs.

 

airbag problem

any ideas..i have a flat bottom steering wheel from as MK6 golf & trying to fit it to my CC..after learning the air bag is different i have now bought the correct one but have now been told the wiring loom connecting the steering wheel for the DSG paddels to work is not compatable..can the multiplug need for the sttering wheel be purchased seperate & cut-solderd to work or do i need a whole loom..help

 

thanks for the quick reply..im still strugling to find any info about the wiring loom..the one from the dash to the base of the flat bottom steering wheel is totally different from my CC was wondering if you know if its possible to buy the plug i need the cut n shut it to my loom..bit scary as its the airbag..any help will be spot on..thanx

thanks very much..i have a 2009 CC DSG with MSD on the dash not the stalk and the fone & radio controls etc on the wheel..will use your info to work out exactly what i need from main dealer..again spot on reply
