I recently had a mishap with my '03 Jetta wagon. It coasted down my driveway and went over a rock. The insurance company ended up totalling it and I bought it back from them. I am planning on selling it but don't know what to ask for it. The damage was to the plastic on the front end, the bottom of the radiator, and the front suspension. The motor, transmission, and all the rest of the vehicle and body are fine. Any advice from all you TDI gurus?

Are you parting out or selling whole?
    Does it run now?
It's worth more if they can see it running?
People pay around 1000 for 5 speed swap kits from the netherlands.
To be honest if you can do the work of replacing the radiator and the plastic bits from a U pick yard you could drive on and worry less.

It runs fine. I drove it on a trailer to get it to the body shop. The brakes do not work on it now, but otherwise fine. The car has a five speed, and has about 135, 000 miles on it. There is nobody within hundreds of miles that works on these cars and I don't have the ability to do the work myself. I live in northern WI.

I don't know how much you're into it but ebay may be an option. Other than that the damage is not to the tdi specific so any shop could work on the brakes and radiator. Think Craigslist mechanic then sell it wherever you want or drive on

On second thought, maybe a manual VW diesel wagon might be up someones ally.

As said, get it running, it will expand intrest.

It runs fine. It just doesn't have brakes. For whatever reason nobody anywhere near me wants to work on VW's. I had decided I was going to sell it because service is such an issue but was waiting until my Dad passed away because it's a 600 mile round trip to see him every few weeks. Now that it's out of commission, I am just going to get rid of it.

Post it on vortex/CL/thesamba and your local FB VW group
Kinda unique being a manual wagon.

Around here the the 03 sport wagon is the holy grail. Best of the alh engines in a car you can haul stuff in.
