So, I have two TDIs right now. 2009 Jetta which is going back to VW, and a 2005.5 Jetta which I bought to replace it. Both have DSGs. The one in the 09 is a KQC, and has a Malone flash. The one in the 05 is a BQN. The newer one feels way better, due to the flash and it being 4 years newer. I'd love to swap them out. Is that possible? I'm assuming physically everything lines up, and from what I remember from doing the DMF on my 09, there's only one electrical connector, plus the shift cable. Are the starters the same? Any software issues to consider? Any help would be appreciated.
Any software issues....that's the million dollar question...since they're different codes, perhaps. If you look at junkyards online or ebay for replacement DSG and they say all years 2005-2010, then probably they're compatible.
I had another guy tell me it's possible. I'm going to see what more he can tell me, but I'm seriously thinking about giving this a shot.
