Whilst changing the timing belt I managed to remove the engine mount that bolts to the block...didn't realise it could stay there and be worked around....now I can't get it back in!! Is there a trick to it? I'm worried about raising the engine up too much with the jack. Spent an hour on this already.

Yes, there are a couple of magic spots where that lower engine mount ("bracket") can escape... Generally if the engine's on the low side, it's easier...

It's also much easier if you remove the intake air snorkel to the turbo... (2 bolts and the hose clamp...)

    Good luck,

I had the same problem. I had taken the bracket out (my mistake) and couldn't find a way to install it with the new timing belt in. So I removed one of the small rollers and was then able to get the bracket in (with the engine lowered) and then could reinstall the roller and tension the belt.
