We just replaced the stock injectors on our 98 TDI with Bozio 520. It smokes, and the mileage has gone from over 50 mpg to around 40 mpg or less. I guess these nozzles are nominally .205 but act like larger ones. I might hold onto these for when I get a turbo and chip upgrade, but in the meantime, I would like to go back to higher mileage and no smoke. Suggestions?

Do you have access to VCDS or equivalent? You should adjust the I.Q. for new nozzles...

BTW: I'm assuming you didn't have the injector/nozzle combination tested... (pop pressures, flow...)

520 nozzles shouldn't cause a drastic drop in fuel economy - as long as you can resist the urge to floor the accelerator consistently...
