I recently got a MK4 Jetta wagon on the cheap it has a BEW motor and needs the turbo replaced. I just happen to have a GT1749V from a Jetta ALH laying around. I notice the housings are different. Can I just swap the turbo cartridges? The KP36 KKK from the BEW clips in with a snap ring and the GT1749V is held in by bolts, will the snap ring work on this?

This may seem silly to some of you but my goal is to save as much money as possible, I realize I'll have slightly less power thats not an issue for me.
    Thanks for the help Tim.
