I decided, perhaps foolishly, to take on a balance shaft delete job on a TDI Passat BHW wagon I recently bought. Everything seemed to be going ok until I tried to take the oil pan off. It is binding on the rear driver's side corner (won't clear bottom of crank) and i can't get it free. This makes me think the subframe is not low enough. I have removed or loosened all of the bolts described in the balance shaft how-to and have the engine supported from above but whatever i'm doing evidently it's not enough. The front of the subframe has no play in it at all. Any ideas?

Ah. Ok. This is the back of the balance shaft module... I will just try to get that triple square off. Nevermind :D
