I could not locate where the smaller o ring goes, that came with the new filter? Anyone done there own oil in a 2015 Golf or Jetta TDI? I looked all over the internet, could not get an answer.

    Thanks for the help.

What's the part number of the OEM oil filter? There was only 1 large one in mine for the cover top.

There are oil change descriptions in TDI Wiki if you search.

Ok Thanks for your help. I ordred from IDparts. It had a large and a small o ring. Only saw a large one on the cap. OEM Part Number: 03N115562
    Manufacturer Number: OX787D

It goes on the bottom stem of the filter where it sits in the oil filter housing, bottom of filter.

    Not on the 2015.

the oil filter cover includes a small plug that lets you drain the oil from the filter, the small o ring is to replace that one.

the large one, of course, goes on the large filter cover.

Oil filter with gasket for CRUA, DEJA diesel - 03N 115 562 - £9.20. It looks like it includes the small O ring at the bottom because it doesn't show a separate part number.

Thank you for the diagrams and photo's. I looked on the internet with no luck. I wanted to stay away from the stealership. I'll replace small o ring next oil change :)

    Thanks again for the help!

You don't have torque values for the cap and plug, do you?

I would think its the same as mine. Oil filter Cap, 25 Nm, 18.5 lb/ft

The small drain plug that fits into the end of the filter cover has detents which click on the way in. just wondering if there is a torque specified for it.

with the O ring, small thread size and detents, I would expect it is not very high. The detents should keep the cap installed, and the O ring seals between the outer diameter of the drain plug, and the inner diameter of the plug.
