    Hey everyone,

Im new here, and I apologize if this has already been covered. I searched around and couldn't seem to find anything.

I just bought a 2011 jetta.. the car only came with one key, and the fob is not programmed to the car for lock/unlock/trunk.

Is there a way for me to program the one remote myself without another key? If not, how much is it for VW to program the fob usually?

    You can with VCDS.

Yep, no way without VCDS or take it to the dealer. I assume you're talking about the fob, and not the immobilizer. See the key FAQ in the FAQ/wiki to learn the long answer.
