It is possible to swap a Jetta 2006 2.5 engine manual transmission on a Jetta 2006 1.9 TDI engine?

Yes but the gearing is different due to the different rpm ranges.

It may bolt up however it will not work because the 2.5 has a way different RPM range. At freeway speeds the 2.5 tranny will cause your TDI to rev very fast.

First time poster so pardon any ignorance to etiquette etc. My question is along this line with this one. I have a 2006 TDI with the tiptronic automatic. Bought it second hand and the DMF let loose on the way home, major bummer. Anyhow I need a new bell housing, are these interchangeable with the gassers? I planned to take one off of a junker and swap it over to keep the original guts. Replacing the seals on the axels and the input shafts while I am in there. Any info would be appreciated.
