Hi all former 03 Golf 5sp owner, sold it with 280k on it and ventured over t0 a few Accords (what a mistake) So I am back in a TDI, picked up a 06 Jetta 5sp with 184k for $2850, it needs a cam, I pulled the valve cover and can see the chamfer gone on a couple lobes, I ordered a ID Parts cam and timing belt kit last night. I am in Connecticut and don't have a garage so not sure when I am going to tackle the cam change. I'd like to wait til spring but leery of driving the car in this condition. I was on the fence on whether to get another ALH or a MK5, read some reviews on the Mk5's and how they handle better than the Mk4's and they are right. Happy to be back in a TDI even with the extra work needed.
