vwcourtsettlement.com website has a video that explains the process.

Did your mileage change since the original quote?

Yes, but VW has no way of knowing at this point other than their assumed mileage rate.

So you didn't have to disclose you mileage update to get the final quote?

And would there be another quote when you actually see a buyback specialist?

    Interesting!

No, but the offer letter makes clear that the buyback amount shown is preliminary and will be adjusted based on the actual mileage at the time of the buyback. The only time I disclosed the actual mileage was back in early August when I initially registered at the online portal.

I uploaded the signed and notarized offer on Friday, November 4th.

E-Mail this morning directed me to sign in to the claims portal and make an appointment: November 29th at 11:30am.

They also asked for an update on the odometer.

They gave me a check-list of things to bring to the meeting, including my specific car.

Received my "offer letter accepted" email today. After working through a blizzard of "Error 8908" codes on the website, managed to schedule the buyback for 7 Dec.

I still haven't received an offer letter, despite the site saying they'd get back to me within 10 business days on November 2 (probably earlier, in fact). I'm getting quite annoyed!

I called yesterday and a representative confirmed that they are in fact very behind in sending offer letters. She apologized and reiterated they are working as fast as possible.

My papers were accepted on 10/14 -- almost a week before yours. I have yet to get an offer.

Of course, it really shouldn't be that surprising that a company with VW's reputation for engineering excellence (the cheat was, after all, technically brilliant, even if it was both illegal and unethical) and poor management (witness all the complaints about dealership problems, difficulties getting custom-ordered cars, etc.) would have troubles processing the claims that they fully understood were already in the pipeline....

To all those who have actual buyback appointments, what are they requesting that you bring to the dealer with the car, ie. paperwork etc.?
Are they demanding that the vehicle has current insurance, (not that it would be any good to them)? I know it has to have current registration.

    Mark.

FWIW, I got my offer e-mail today. I printed out the documents, got them notarized, and uploaded scans of the signed and notarized paperwork just now. I'm now waiting on confirmation and to schedule an appointment.

Once your acceptance of the offer is final, several documents are available for download, one of which is a checklist. "Bring with you" items as follows:

Goverment-issued photo ID for each registered owner

Goverment-issued photo ID for each listed title holder

Notarized PoA for any title holder not present at closing (N/A if lender holds title)

Transferable title (N/A if lender holds title)

Certified check if you owe VW money

    All keys and key FOBs

Just trying to narrow down the logic here: Of those who already received their offers already, were your vehicles paid off? I'm wondering if part of the reason it is taking so long is resolving loans with banks. I have two cars I'm awaiting offers for with liens and I submitted my paperwork back on Sept. 30th. Thanks.

The bank still owns my car. I got my final offer 4 days ago or so.

One thing not mentioned: benchmark dates. I submitted my documents on September 20th. Checked again 2 weeks later and saw they were all approved with bright green check marks (steps 13-15, I believe). Haven't heard a peep since. Called a couple times, was told that I just have to wait it out. Apparently I'm between "Documents received" and "Bank interaction..." because my loans have not been paid off yet and it's the end on November. Two months in limbo.

Anyone else in my boat? Now I'm wondering if the delays are a regional thing...
