2006 VW Beetle TDI 5 speed has good idle.
On occasion, the idle will stumble lightly and it has a little wobble and then it goes away.
Seems to have always done this. Is it normal or could it be an indication of an internal issue?

    thanks
    George

"Seems to have always done this" . You can check the timing but if it's not causing any problems or getting worse I wouldn't chase it. It's most likely related to the EGR system, flywheel, or timing. I'd just keep up with regular maintenance.

Sounds like it's nothing serious but next time I get my timing belt changed, I'll have my diesel mechanic look at it.
Not sure if the EGR is on my 2006 Pump Deuse diesel as compared to the pre 2006 ALH diesels.

    Thanks for the input gentlemen!

Your car spec only says: New Beetle only, please add the year and the engine size would be nice? ;)
